Small Home Renovation: How to Pack and Protect Your Belongings in New Jersey
Redoing a bathroom, kitchen or one room? How to clear the space, keep dust off your belongings and get your things back, with bins we deliver and pick up.
Even a small renovation takes over your home
A new bathroom, a kitchen update or a single room refresh still means moving everything out of the way, and then living around it for weeks. The goal is simple: clear the room fast, keep your things clean and together, and not lose a room of your home to empty boxes afterwards.
What to do
- Walk the room with your contractor and decide exactly what has to go.
- Order bins for the length of the job. Most small renovations run 2 to 6 weeks. Prices are on our renovation bin page.
- Pack by category. Keep a "daily use" bin you can reach (towels, toiletries, a kettle) and pack the rest.
- Label with the QR codes. Scan each bin's label and list what is inside.
- Keep bins out of the work area. A spare room or the garage is ideal. Lids keep dust off your belongings.
- When the work is done, unpack, then book the pick-up. We collect the bins, so you do not have to store them.
Good bin sizes for a renovation
- Standard bins (12 gallon) suit books, towels, toiletries and kitchenware.
- XL bins (18.75 gallon) suit bedding, small appliances and bulky items.
Frequently asked questions
What if my renovation takes longer than planned?
Contact us by email or chat. Monthly rental keeps going until you return the bins.
Will dust get into the bins?
Closed lids keep out most dust. Keep the bins away from the work area for the best result.
Do I need boxes as well?
You can add boxes, tape and packing paper to your order. The boxes are yours to keep, and we will gladly pick them up and recycle them.
